St. John's Enrichment Co-op Code of Conduct

2026 – 2027 · Fill & Sign Online

The following rules and expectations are to be followed by all participants in St. John Enrichment Co-op. We are to show respect to the building, grounds, teachers, parents, students, and church staff.

General Rules

No running inside the building (hall, hallways, sanctuary)
Use "inside voices"
Place personal belongings in family laundry basket along the window looking into the sanctuary
Student must ask his/her parent to go outside for recess; be mindful of cars and small children
Families sit together for Mass, morning announcements, and lunch

Clean-up Protocol

Student lunch area must be clean before enjoying recess play; place items in family laundry basket
Dispose of all trash in the trash bin during lunch
Place class supply bin in the co-op cabinet before lunch
All elementary and middle school students will help with the final cleanup after lunch/recess

Classroom Behavior

Show respect for all parent teachers and students with your words and actions
Raise your hand when you would like to speak
Listen to all rules and instructions from the teacher, including seating assignments
Offer to help other students or the teacher
If a student is misbehaving towards the teacher or another student, he/she is given one warning for correction. With a second offense, the student needs to be reunited with his/her parent for a brief discussion but may return to class. With a third offense towards a teacher or student in the same day, the student will be removed to a separate area with his/her parent (nursery, etc.). Misbehavior includes but is not limited to:
Not listening to teacher instructions
Speaking unkindly towards teacher or fellow student; using inappropriate language
Exhibiting disruptive behavior towards classroom materials
Physically harassing or harming another student

Sickness Policy

Out of charity towards fellow families and parishioners, please call out sick if:
You or your child(ren) have had a fever or vomiting within 24 hours
You or your child(ren) have started antibiotics within 24 hours
You or your child(ren) have a contagious rash, lice, or conjunctivitis (pink eye)
You or your child(ren) have a productive cough and/or sneezing that cannot be contained in a sanitary manner (covering with your elbow, handkerchief, repeat hand washing)
Ultimately, you as the parent know your health and the health of your children best. From experience, you know when seasonal allergies can pop up and mild coughing or a runny nose is not necessarily a contagious virus. Please use your best judgement and let Raqueli DeWitt know as soon as possible if you need to call out from a co-op day.
If you are a lead teacher, you will need to submit a sub plan for your class to Raqueli DeWitt and your substitute, if known. If overall attendance is too low due to widespread illness, Raqueli DeWitt will email and text the SJEC GroupMe no later than 7:00 AM on Fridays.
